BOARD & LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Working with people to help them uncover their abilities in fundraising, relationship building, and becoming effective board and staff members is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
With thirty years’ experience working in fundraising, I know how to listen and ask the right questions to guide a conversation. Whether your board is afraid of asking for money, your staff does not have the skills needed, or your organization is having unproductive meetings, I can help. Facilitating nonprofits to become unstuck is incredibly rewarding.
Sometimes organizations just need a little help to get started, and a one-time engagement through a retreat or training can be a big help. Depending on your needs, we can work together in-person or virtually.
Board Retreats
Board retreats are a terrific way to refocus and refresh the commitment to being a vital part of a nonprofit team. Working with you, I can help plan an exciting, interactive, and inspiring retreat. Your board members will learn while having fun!
Board members will:
- Become more confident in their role as ambassadors for your organization
- Be able to better articulate their personal passion for your cause
- Learn new skills that will help them become better advocates and more confident fundraisers for your nonprofit
CONNECT WITH ANNE
Great Facilitator, Every Time
Anne’s retreats have helped board members and Family Center leadership build fundraising skills in concrete, sustainable ways for nearly a dozen years. She is able and willing to work with all levels of fundraising experience and expertise, from the novice to the expert. Anne is also a great partner to a nonprofit’s development staff—both in leveraging board members’ strengths, and in helping the board members themselves identify opportunities for growth and forge plans to get there. The Family Center has seen tangible results from partnering with Anne: We recommend her to any nonprofit interested in growing their board and leadership's fundraising skillsets and toolkits!

Helped Us Envision the Future
Having worked with Anne at the Brooklyn Historical Society and the Alice Austen House, I knew when I started at the Staten Island Museum, I wanted her expertise as I discovered the strengths and weaknesses of our fundraising program. She facilitated an incredible board retreat on finances in partnership with the Nonprofit Finance Fund. When it came time to revise our mission and vision, Anne was there to guide us through facilitated conversations which helped us land on our new statements. We can’t wait for our upcoming retreat focusing on next-level fundraising.

Just the Right Person
Anne was just the right person, just at the right time for us! As an organization that was ready to go to the next level of fundraising, Anne was able to open our eyes to new possibilities. She was the perfect person to lead our board retreat, taking the fear out of fundraising and engaging everyone in a fun and non-threatening way, always respectful of each person’s different personalities, experience, and comfort levels.
