Working with people to help them uncover their abilities in fundraising, building relationships, becoming effective board and staff members, and designing meetings/conversations so that they are strategic and productive is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
Having worked in the field of fundraising for 20 years, I know how to listen and ask the right questions to guide a conversation. Whether the board was afraid of asking for money, the staff did not have the skills needed, or an organization was having unproductive meetings, seeing organizations become unstuck has been very rewarding.
Sometimes organizations just need a little help to get them started, and a one-time engagement through a retreat, training, or meeting design can be a big help. Working together, we can solve this in several ways.
Board retreats are a terrific way for a board to refocus and refresh its commitment to being a vital part of a nonprofit team. Working with you, I can help plan an exciting, interactive, and inspiring retreat. Your board members will learn while having fun!
Board members will:
- Become more confident in their role as ambassadors for your organization
- Help them better articulate their personal passion for your cause
- Learn new skills that will help them become better advocates and more confident fundraisers for your nonprofit
Does your staff need training that is specific to your fundraising plan? We can work together to create an individualized training or series of training that will help you and your staff learn and uncover techniques and strategies to help your fundraising program grow.
Meeting Design and Facilitation
Gathering the right people to have productive conversations around fundraising and sustainability is critical to helping your organization move forward. Together we can design a meeting that engages your board, staff, or stakeholders that helps them to feel valued. We will plan and design the time so that everyone’s time is used efficiently and critical questions are asked. We will work to meet your needs and plan the meeting and activities that create momentum within your organization.
All training and meeting design includes a pre-meeting to set objectives and goals for the materials and handouts, a post-meeting debrief meeting, and follow-up notes/suggestions for next steps.
